These are the most common filters used in any fish tanks because they are affordable, efficient and readily available. Maintenance is simple and easy to install and is one of the filters that can actually use all the three filtration methods depending on how you design the power filter's settings.

*Canister Filters*
Canister filters a little bit difficult to maintain but these are among the most powerful filters that you can use for your cleaning processes. The filters forced water through the filter media not letting it to pass through making it more effective in cleaning the mess inside the aquarium.

Though discoveries of more effective and modern ways of filtering are present nowadays still modern filters evolved from the least popular corner filters.
